The Hôtel de l’Europe:

The Prince of Wale’s visit.

In Langres, 1915 started with an uncommon official visit from the Prince of Wales, heir to the English throne, who was beginning a tour of France to get to the front. His course took him to Langres on 15th January. According to Le Spectateur of 19th January, he « had lunch in the Hôtel de l’Europe with great appetite, we are told, which is a valuable homage to the reputation of the old Langres hotel, where he received visits from the superior officers of the garrison. » His voyage next took him to Nancy from where he went on to the front.
